Educational Program 2026
Set just two weeks after the Spanish Civil War, La Cena unfolds during a high-profile dinner hosted by Franco. In the kitchen, Republican prisoners are forced to prepare the banquet, while secretly planning their escape.
Blending drama with dark humor, the film offers an accessible and engaging way to explore themes such as power, resistance, and the aftermath of conflict. By focusing on a single location and a high-stakes situation, it makes complex historical dynamics tangible and easy for students to grasp.
La Cena provides a strong entry point into discussions around the Spanish Civil War, moral choices under pressure, and the lasting impact of authoritarian regimes. With its gripping narrative and sharp dialogue, it is particularly well suited for sudents of all ages.
