C Tangana will be at the ASFF 2024 Closing Night on Sunday April 21 at Pathé Tuschinski, presenting his documentary film ESTA AMBICION DESMEDIDA. He will be accompanied by the directors of the film, Santos Bacana, Rogelio González, and Cris Trenas.
Tangana is a non-conformist artist, composer and producer, as well as businessman, whose third album “El Madrileño” (SONY, February 2021) confirms him as one of the most innovative and inventive musicians on the current music scene. Additionally, the successful album accumulated more than 5 million streams on Spotify Spain during the first 24 hours, becoming the best debut for a Spanish artist and making history on the platform. It also debuted at #8 on the Latin Pop Albums chart, marking an unprecedented entry on any Billboard album chart, making C. Tangana the first Spanish artist born in Spain to appear in the Top 10 of the list.
The release of singles like “Un Veneno” and “Para Repartir” in 2019 marked the beginning of an aesthetic transformation that would define this new stage, exploring the influence of Latin musical tradition and paving the way for a 2020 where, once again, Far from following the usual coordinates of the industry and fleeing from predictability, he surprised his audience with “I’m Never”, a kind of low-resolution ballad that propelled this innovative musical to the top of all digital music platforms for three consecutive weeks, becoming the first track from Spain to reach the top of streaming platforms in 2020.
