Julia de Castro will be at the ASFF 2024 Special Event presenting her film ON THE GO, alongside actor Omar Ayuso, on Saturday April 20 at Eye Filmmuseum. They will also attend a Q&A session after the screenings of the film on Friday April 19 at LAB111 and Sunday and April 21 at Filmkoepel Haarlem.

Julia de Castro is a multidisciplinary artist. Graduated in Art History (UCM), Graduated in Textual Interpretation from the (RESAD), and Graduated in violin from the Conservatory. Resident of the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome in 2017-2018.

As a screenwriter, she signed the chapter Así de Fácil (HBO, 2020), she directed Exhalación (Filmin, 2019) and produced and starred in the docu-fiction Anatomía de una criminal (Filmin, 2015). As an actress, she has just released the series Poquita Fe (Movistar Plus) and has participated in numerous plays, being nominated for the 2020 Valle Inclán Award for best actress. In cinema, Der Geldkomplex (Berlinale, Panorama Section) stands out, in 2023, she premiered Teresa, directed by Paula Ortiz.

In music, she is the Founder and composer of the De la Puríssima project (2009-2019), with which she traveled around the world spreading the Cuplé genre as an essential performative legacy in the history of female sexuality. In 2020, she released her first solo album La Historiadora.

In 2019, she published her first book La rhetorica delle Puttane (The Factory). She currently collaborates weekly on Radio 3 with her section The classic of the classics where she talks about classic cars in classic films.
