Laura Weissmahr

Laura Weissmahr studied Film and Television Production at the University of Westminster. She also studied acting in Barcelona. She worked on several documentary projects until making her acting debut in the feature film Júlia Ist, directed by Elena Martín Gimeno. She is fluent in Catalan, German, English, Italian, Spanish, and French.

In theater, she has worked with artists such as Carlota Subirós, Nao Albet, Marcel Borràs, and Ferran Dordal, among others. Recently, she premiered Falseftuff. La muerte de las musas at the National Dramatic Center. She is a member of the VVAA collective, with whom she co-wrote and co-directed Arcas 2020. She was also part of the cast as an actress, singer, and creator in the performance Pussy Picnic and in the play Wohnwagen, directed by Anna Serrano and Max Grosse, as well as in Like si lloras, directed by Elena Martín and Anna Serrangango.

In film, she starred in Salve María by Mar Coll, for which she won the Best New Actress award at the Goya Awards and the Premis Gaudí, the Golden Spike for Best Actress at Seminci, and a nomination for Best Leading Actress at the Feroz Awards. She also appears in Los Aitas by Borja Cobeaga, No matarás by David Victori, L’Ofrena by Ventura Durall, and Julia Ist by Elena Martín Gimeno.

She has acted in several projects by Jordi Colomer, such as Join Us! Únete!, for the Spain Pavilion at the 57th Venice Art Biennale, and New Palermo Felicissima! for MANIFESTA12 in Palermo. In February 2018, she premiered The Spanish Coast at ARCOmadrid, a 4-hour daily performance in 9 languages, which she presented again at MACBA in 2024.

She has also participated in series such as Cardo, La Ruta, Fanático, Drama, and short films like Gang, directed by Alex Sarà, and Lucky Strike, directed by Marta Schmindt.

She will participate in a Q&A following the screening of Salve Maria.
