Yerai Cortés (Alicante, 1995) is part of the new generation of artists who are taking flamenco to uncharted territories. Despite his youth, he already has an extensive career that has led him to collaborate with artists from various genres: from flamenco innovators like Rocío Molina and Niño de Elche, to musicians from different parts of the world such as Judeline, Ralphie Choo, Lola Índigo, and C. Tangana, with whom he toured on the legendary ‘Sin cantar ni afinar’ tour.
Under the direction of Antón Álvarez, (C. Tangana), he presented La Guitarra Flamenca de Yerai Cortés at the San Sebastián International Film Festival (SSIFF), a film that tells the story of his life and family through his music. It premiered alongside the album of the same name in December 2024. Both the film and the album have received recognition and admiration from the public, critics, and media, and were recently awarded two Goya Awards- in the categories of Best Documentary Film, and Best Original Song for Los Almendros.
