“The elephant in the room”, an issue everyone sees but no one dares to mention, embodies the central conflict of this film. After two months in rehab for a long-term addiction, a seemingly successful architect returns home, becoming the primary concern of her youngest daughter, a professional dancer. Emma Suárez and Natalia de Molina (both two-time Goya winners) bring these two women to life, bound to support each other. Alongside veteran Darío Grandinetti and rising star Alba Guilera, they form a fractured family in Aitor Echeverría’s directorial debut.
A poignant and mature film about dependence in all its forms; emotional, caregiving, and beyond. It explores commitment, responsibility, and the challenge of rebuilding a life. Sometimes, things must break before they can stand again.
