ASFF wants to honour the legacy of legendary Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura, who died aged 91 earlier this year, with a special screening of his one of the most celebrated films of the emblematic director.
Just five months after Spain gained its freedom following the death of the dictator, Cría Cuervos (1975) won the Cannes Grand Prix, elevating the country to a prominent position in global cinema culture. This film, widely regarded as Saura’s masterpiece, has since become a timeless classic, a must-watch for its powerful narrative and cinematography.
We are delighted to have Anna Saura and Eulalia Ramón, the director’s daughter and wife, join us for this special tribute. They will be sharing insights and memories about the film and Saura’s body of work on Sunday 26 November at Eye Film Museum.
The screening will be followed by Eulalia Ramón and Anna Saura, wife and daughter of the great director.
