Based on a short novel by Adelaida García Morales, in this coming-of-age story a young woman reflects on her childhood relationship with her father, attempting to understand the depths of his despair and the truth of his myths.

Erice once again shows the difficult growth of the protagonist from youth to adulthood framed in the historical context of the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War.
